Looking back across the years, it is clear that none of the work followed a straight line.
One opportunity led to another.
One problem led to a solution.
And one chapter of life slowly opened the door to the next.
What began with installing automotive accessories in dealerships eventually grew into work with early internet technology, website development, and small business IT support. Those experiences led to the creation of WebGraphicsRus and later eMaxAds, projects that helped businesses adapt to the rapidly changing digital world of the early internet era.
Along the way those same technical skills created something unexpected.
Time.
That time allowed motorcycles to return to my life in a bigger way, and through riding and friendships the idea for Bikes Built Better was born. What started as a few projects in a garage eventually became a motorcycle service shop built around a simple philosophy: do the work right and treat people fairly.
Over the years the shop grew through reputation and word of mouth. Customers became friends, and the community around the shop became just as important as the machines that passed through the service bays.
Today those different threads of work still exist, each one representing a different chapter of the journey.
Bikes Built Better continues to serve riders who depend on their motorcycles for both transportation and recreation.
The technology work that began with early dealer websites and small business networks still supports long-time clients who trusted me with their systems when the internet was new and confusing.
And the older projects that once seemed temporary — websites, experiments, and early digital work — have taken on a different kind of value over time.
They have become part of the story.
The internet changes quickly. Businesses evolve. Technologies appear and disappear. But the relationships formed through those years remain one of the most meaningful parts of the work.
Looking back, the most important lesson was never about machines, computers, or business strategies.
It was always about people.
The riders, customers, friends, and mentors who trusted me with their machines, their businesses, and sometimes their stories helped shape the direction of everything that followed.
The work continues today much the same way it always has.
One project at a time.
One customer at a time.
One relationship at a time.
And the journey is still unfolding.
